Burhill Trophy - 9th May 18 girls from Bramley, Burhill, Royal Mid Surrey and Wimbledon Park came to Epsom to play for the Burhill Trophy (in its second year and being hosted by Epsom in our Ladies Centary Year). It was a very successful day. The format was the best two aggregate scores from three and although Epsom’s team on the day was only 2 (Georgia Rudd and Sophie Stinton) owing to the 3rd member being unable to make it, we still managed to win the trophy with 87 points from Wimbledon Park B who had 83 points. Sophie Stinton also won the longest drive. The Lady Captain presented the prizes which had been donated by Callaway and gave each player a memorable Ladies Centenary year golf ball. Bernadette Thwaites donated and presented a prize to the team that had made the best effort. Match Vs. The Christmas Golf and lunch event (held on 2 January 2009) saw 40 juniors
taking part playing 6, 13 or 18 holes (according to ability) in cold conditions
but that did not deter Sam Eccles getting 36 points and winning the 2008
Christmas trophy. (photo above). This was followed by lunch in the dining

We have a couple of League matches still to play, which will determine our final placings for the season. All matches should be completed by end of October. Results to date Archive Declan Wrote on 7th July; "I’ve attached the list of Junior Match results for the season to date. You’ll see that we started it well by winning the Centenary Cup against Banstead 4.5 – 1.5. The winning team was Nathan Dillon, Jamie Debrou, Kim Munro, James Pickard, John Radley & Elliot Wood. As the match should have been played in 2008, it was agreed with Banstead that we could select a team from last season’s squad; hence Nathan & Kim could play. We won our first round Fairways match against Shirley Park 8-4 over two legs. We are 5-1 up in the second round against Redhill & Reigate after the home leg. We have won our first two matches in the Kingston League at home against Purley Downs & Banstead. Leatherhead & Strawberry Hill have dropped out of the Kingston Lge this year due to a lack of juniors, which leaves us with 7 matches to play in total. In the Keppler League we have won one and drawn one match against Purley Downs & Croham Hurst respectively. Chipstead are not playind the Keppler League this season, which leaves us with just 5 games in total to play. Declan" On 25th April we played for the Centenary Cup which is the runners up from the Fairways Trophy and Fairways Plate. This match should have been played in 2008 but owing to other match fixtures in 2008, was played this year. Epsom beat Banstead 4 ½ - 1 ½ . This has meant that a total of 5 trophies were won by our junior teams for 2008. East Surrey Masters League – Epsom have won their group for this league beating Chipstead and Purley Downs and now go through to the final to played in September at a venue tbc. Team consisted of Jack Avery, Ziggy Emovon, Nilesh Patel and Matt Edgar. The Fairways Trophy – we have made a positive start in this competition by beating Shirley Park at home and away 4 – 2. Kingston League – another positive start winning both home matches against Purley Downs (4-2) and Banstead Downs (5-1). Competition Winners Congratulations to the following:
* The Kruger Cup was a qualifier for the first 3 to play in a Pro Am with our Professional. The three juniors that will be playing with Stuart are: Jack Avery, Luke Pidgeon and Jamie Debrou.
